THE RECYCLED ENCYCLOPEDIA LAMP

Created from the pages of an abandoned encyclopedia, this one of a kind lamp fills your living room with a soft, inspiring light. The paper folds create a beautiful pattern and upon closer look, you can read excerpts of the entries and see pictures and maps.

This particular lamp shade is comprised of 60 boxes, all hand folded and glued together. The boxes are made from an abandoned Encyclopedia Britannica from the 60’s. This particular lamp shade is made from the pages withing the following entries: Newspaper to Nigeria. Some boxes are made from encyclopedia images including: New York and New Zealand. The boxes are assembled with an acid-free, liquid glue to create a strong permanent bond.

The light is softened and it gives the room a warm glow. It looks very beautiful both when it is on and when it is off.
